What Is an Auto Broker in Los Angeles and How Does It Work?

An auto broker in Los Angeles is a licensed professional who shops, negotiates and arranges your car lease or purchase for you. Instead of you working with one dealership, the broker makes several dealers compete on the same car, writes up the best offer, and delivers it to your door. You never negotiate and never set foot in a showroom.

Quick facts

See what that competition produces on this month's lease specials for September 2026.

What does an auto broker in Los Angeles actually do?

An auto broker handles the entire car buying or leasing process on your behalf, from the first search to the day the car arrives at your door.

Think of it like having a real estate agent, but for your car. You tell us what you want and what your budget looks like. We do all the legwork, the research, the calls and the negotiating, and you review the offer and take the keys.

The car still comes from a franchised dealer's inventory. What changes is who does the talking: we work the dealer's fleet desk, and you only ever talk to us.

A dealership works for the dealership. A broker works for you. Those two things are never the same.

Everything happens from our office in Glendale, and you never need to visit a dealership; we bring the car to you.

How does leasing through an auto broker work, step by step?

It takes four steps, and only the first one takes any real effort from you.

  1. Tell us what you want. Share the make, model, color, trim and budget, and whether you want to lease or buy, new or used. Not sure yet? We will help you figure it out.
  2. We shop the market for you. We send your request to our dealer network across Southern California, compare incentives, money factors and rebates, and make them compete on the same car.
  3. You review one clear number. One written offer, quoted like this month's specials: $3,000 due at signing, tax excluded. No back and forth, no surprises at signing.
  4. We deliver. Once you approve, we write up the deal and bring the car to your home or office anywhere in Southern California.

Auto broker vs. dealership: what is the real difference?

The difference is who is negotiating for you: at a dealership you are up against a professional, and with a broker the professional is on your side.

Do auto brokers really save you money?

Yes, and often significantly, because a dealership builds profit into several parts of one transaction.

The vehicle price. The money factor or finance rate. Add-on products like warranties and protection packages. The trade-in value. Each one is its own negotiation, and most buyers do not realize every one of them is open.

Our owners, Teo and Tomik, have more than 15 years on the inside of this industry. We know what dealers pay, which incentives they are sitting on, and which levers actually move a payment, and we negotiate all of it at once: the price, the money factor, and any rebates and manufacturer incentives.

Money factor is the lease version of an interest rate: multiply it by 2,400 to get the APR, so 0.00200 is 4.8% APR. Dealers can mark it up the same way they mark up a price, which is why it is one of the 3 numbers that decide every lease deal.

Example, not a quote: two dealers are asked for the same car on a 36-month lease with $3,000 due at signing, tax excluded. One comes back at $520 a month, the other at $480. That $40 difference is $1,440 over the lease, and you only find it by asking both.

We also know which dealers are sitting on excess inventory and when end-of-month pressure gives us leverage, and we use both to bring the number down.

What kinds of cars can an auto broker in Los Angeles get?

Any make and any model, because we are not limited to one brand's lot.

The request can be almost anything:

  • New cars and used cars.
  • Lease deals and financed purchases.
  • Lease buyouts and lease returns.
  • Trade-ins.
  • EVs and hybrids.
  • Luxury vehicles.
  • Trucks and SUVs.
  • Fleet and business vehicles.

If it has wheels and a VIN, we can almost always get it for you.

Is an auto broker in Los Angeles right for you?

An auto broker is a good fit for most drivers, and an especially strong one if any of the following sounds like you.

You value your time

Shopping several dealerships yourself can easily consume a dozen or more hours of research, back and forth and negotiating. With us, that entire process becomes one conversation.

You dislike negotiating

Dealership salespeople negotiate cars every day. Most people negotiate a car once every few years; even a lessee only does it every three. The playing field is not level. We level it.

You want a specific car that is hard to find

We are not limited to any one lot. If the exact trim, color and package you want exists at a dealer in Southern California, we will track it down.

You are not sure whether to lease or buy

That is a genuine financial question, and the answer depends on your mileage, how long you keep a car and how you use it. We will help you think it through honestly, based on your driving, not on what is easiest to sell. Our guide to leasing or buying a car in Los Angeles is a good place to start.

FAQ: auto brokers in Los Angeles

Is it cheaper to use an auto broker than a dealership?

Usually, yes. A broker makes several dealers compete on the same car and negotiates the price, the money factor and the incentives together, instead of you negotiating each one against a professional. The savings show up as a lower monthly payment and fewer add-ons at signing.

What is the difference between a car broker and a dealership?

A dealership sells the cars on its own lot and negotiates for itself. A broker works for you, shops many dealers for any make and model, and presents one clear offer. With Elevate Auto Sales, the car is then delivered to your home or office.

Do I still have to deal with a dealership if I use an auto broker?

No. We handle every conversation with the dealer, write up the deal, and bring the car to you anywhere in Southern California. You never need to set foot in a dealership.

Can an auto broker help with my trade-in?

Yes. We get you a competitive market appraisal on your current car and apply it to your new lease or purchase. If you still owe money on it, we handle the payoff logistics.

What happens if I am at the end of my lease?

We handle lease buyouts and lease returns. Whether you want to buy out your current car, turn it in and lease something new, or just compare your options, we walk you through it and tell you which one makes sense for you.

Do I need to know exactly which car I want?

No. We ask a few questions about your commute, your lifestyle, your priorities and your budget, and recommend cars that fit. You are never on your own with the decision.

Can an auto broker deliver the car to my home in Los Angeles?

Yes. We deliver to your home or office anywhere in Southern California. We handle the dealer paperwork; your part is reviewing the offer, signing and taking the keys.
